From a model score to something a biologist will actually trust
TPA was established by Tanabe Pharma Corporation, one of the oldest pharmaceutical companies in the world, founded in 1678, to develop and advance its pipeline as well as commercialise approved pharmaceutical products. With Helical, TPA is among the first pharmaceutical companies to bring the Virtual Lab into their discovery workflow. That combination matters: deep scientific heritage, with the conviction to adopt an entirely new way of making discovery decisions.
We have been running in-silico perturbation experiments across ALS and related neurodegenerative conditions, using foundation models personalised on TPA's data to uncover novel targets and shared disease mechanisms.
We do not just generate predictions and hand them over. We work closely with their scientists to validate outputs against real biology, iterate on what holds up, and discard what does not. That is how you go from a model score to something a biologist will actually trust.
